The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Feed the Future Bangladesh Nutrition Activity and BIID Foundation, in collaboration with the government’s ICT Division and Bangladesh Institute of Research & Training on Applied Nutrition (BIRTAN) of the Ministry of Agriculture organized a launch event to announce the International Nutrition Olympiad 2024 to take place on April 17-18, 2024 in Dhaka. Chief Guest Mr. Md. Mostafa Kamal, Director General (DG) of the Department of ICT at the ICT Division announced the dates, unveiled the event logo, and opened the registration for the International Nutrition Olympiad 2024, which is being jointly organized by BIID Foundation, BIRTAN, and the Ministry of Agriculture.
Guests from the Government of Bangladesh, private sector, and development organizations joined the launch event. The Chief Guest and other special guests shared their thoughts on the event, and USAID’s contributions to empowering adolescents and youth.
“As nutrition is a cross cutting issue, it warrants more attention, especially during the pre-budget discussion, which gives an opportunity to work with other ministries for required budget allocation. I appreciate Feed the Future Bangladesh Nutrition Activity and its partners for organizing the International Nutrition Olympiad 2024. I expect the scope of the International Nutrition Olympiad will be broadened and the initiative is sustained in future,” said Mr. Md.Mostafa Kamal, DG, Department of ICT, ICT Division.
